inside out - the pyjama

It's like those opposite/backward theme days you have as a kid in grade school but applicable in real adult life. That, or when little boys wear underwear on the outside of their pants simulating the wardrobe of a psedo-superhero. However you want to see it, wearing under/sleepwear as outerwear has been out and about in the fashion realm.

If I could prolong the wear of my panties to more than 'at home use only,' I would say that would be pretty awesome kick-ass.

outfit no. 13 [ jules ]

While at the WWD Magic/Project trade shows, I thought why not do an outfit post.

Another NYC hot day immortalized in photographs.
Sitting out in one of my favorite places in the city - my special lookout post behind Naumburg shell and Bethesda Terrace - wearing Helmut Lang and eating two boxes of macarons.

Again, I'm wearing a bikini top... and the sheerest thin spun tank with a low back in an attempt to save myself from heat stroke.

The dappled light coming through the vines in said lookout post, makes the illusion of the sun raining down on you, and I miss this place! During the winter, the leaves fall off and all there remains are the twisted skeletons of the trees. I love it either way :)

heat wave

A surge of searing hot sun/heat is happening in Cali.
What does that make you want to do? Jump in the water and prance around naked if possible (swimwear or underwear too if you must). But I gotta say, it's good to be back and I'm sort of loving that burning sensation of the sunlight. It was nice seeing the Pacific Ocean again and seeing surf culture in one (of many) of its natural habitats. Kind of inspired me to strip down to the bare minimum in attire, go barefoot and wish I could have that Cynthia Rowley wetsuit!

Cheers! to skin getting darker and hair getting lighter while we take in as much of summer we have left in the northern hemisphere.

Red in Time

Time to put some color into the wardrobe. Wearing a hint of red makes you feel like a powerful woman doesn't it? It makes you pop out of the crowd but not to obnoxiously, its subtle. Instead of wearing the usual black, white, neutrals, and jeans, lets add a little bit of red into the wardrobe next time. It makes you feel like THE independent woman. And to be honest, since I got these new red heels, which you all will see soon, I can't get enough of it. My red lipstick and red heels, something I will always have in my closet. AND SO SHOULD YOU!

BORN IN THE USA - ROADTRIP AMERICA

Routed through: New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, Colorado, Utah, Arizona, Nevada & finally CALIFORNIA!

If you're viewing this on your phone, you may have some difficulties since it's a bit of an overload of photographs, but I did my best in documenting (roadside & pit-stops) my U.S. cross-country journey. And these photographs are just the picks among the thousands I took...
This wasn't my first time doing the 3000 mile coast to coast road-trip, but the first time I did this, I went completely ALONE (yes, solo) and had no chances in taking photographs. Plus, I dipped down into my home-state Texas and the landscape plateaued a bit.
But here you get to see the landscape morph with each state I crossed. I also had the chance to view a humongous swarm of fireflies glowing for miles and miles and it was one of those bucket list/"I got to see this shit" moments but it was impossible to photograph (I have the blurry black photos to prove this). Let me just say, it was worth the long late night drive.

I know we mainly present fashion photographs on this blog, but travel is a huge inspiration for the already large realm of fashion. And you start to realize how big and varietal (landscape, people, food, etc) the country gets. Kind of forget that sometimes... I promise, on the other hand, that the next post will be 'fashion' related.

Enjoy my picto-journey starting from the George Washington Bridge in New York to the California Palm Trees and everything in between!

p.s. I love you New York & I miss you... & on a positive note: time to get my tan on with endless beach days!
